A Systematic Literature Review of the Phenomenon of Dis- and Misinformation
This study presents a systematic review of 756 publications from 2014 to 2022 on disinformation and misinformation. It examines key concepts, trends, actors, and communication channels, focusing on the impact of disinformation in democratic and semi-democratic societies, especially during major political events and the COVID-19 pandemic. The review highlights research gaps and evaluates the role of social sciences in addressing the challenges posed by false and misleading information
