A Policy Framework for Tackling the Information Crisis
A UK information crisis is unfolding, fueled by media disruption, misinformation, and disjointed institutional responses. This report examines five key threats to democracy confusion, cynicism, fragmentation, irresponsibility, and apathy. It assesses the roles of media, platforms, and regulators, revealing inconsistent efforts and a need for coordinated, systemic solutions. It proposes the creation of an Independent Platform Agency to promote media literacy and inform public policy.
