This pilot leverages Fiji's existing disaster risk management capacity for tropical cyclones, including established early warning systems and governance. Enhancing early warning and response to various hazards is a national priority, as outlined in the National Adaptation Plan and DRR policy. The recent midterm review of Fiji’s Sendai Framework also highlighted the need for a stronger early warning system, supporting its selection as a pilot country for the Early Warning for All initiative.
